I’m Leslie Brown, President of the Forest Hills Chamber of Commerce. It is my pleasure to serve as chamber president, to have owned a business in Forest Hills and to be a life-long resident here. I understand what it is like to run your own company and I know what the challenges that being self-employed entails. My mother opened a children’s clothing store in the 1980’s selling unique often handmade clothing. The store turned into a second generation owned business when I became involved in the 1990’s. We sold our store in early 2004 and I am proud to say that today it is still a family run children’s store on Austin Street! Through the decades of being in business I watched generations grow and I really felt part of the families here. And I still do today.
The Forest Hills Chamber offers the opportunity to network with over 230 Forest Hills based business owners and to get to know the people living and working in our community. I think of our members as being part of the fabric of Forest Hills and what I call the 3 C’S: Commerce, Community & Culture. Commerce makes the community thrive and culture brings the community together.

It is invaluable! Business to business networking is an essential element in promoting and growing your business. With nearly 150 local chamber members, your networking opportunities are limitless when you become a Forest Hills Chamber Member.
Our member’s businesses serve all aspects of our community and include restaurants, yoga studios, bakeries, financial services, health related companies, dentistry, insurance agencies, fitness centers, chiropractic care, urgent care, veterinarian care, real estate and so many more. And there is more. We successfully network with the Forest Hills community and beyond.
The Community events equal more networking opportunities. Our members have the opportunity to showcase their business at the Forest Hills Festival held in June. This event attracts tens of thousands visitors from all over NYC. Love free outdoor concerts? Love Jazz? Come network with us at Jazz Thursdays in August. These free concerts bring in well over 1000 people to each concert. The Shop Forest Hills Fall Festival in September offers another chance to bring your business to the community and to again reach tens of thousands of people. But we’re not done yet! Join us at the Celebrate Winter festivity held on the Monday after Thanksgiving. This fun event draws hundreds of people and serves as a kick off to the holiday season.
When you join the chamber you become part of the network of Forest Hills Chamber members that are offered outstanding sponsorship opportunities to further highlight your business and brand it with the events we hold throughout the year. Chamber members receive a free spot at The Forest Hills Festival of the Arts and at the Shop Forest Hills Fall Festival, free business listing on our website and discounted advertising options for your business.
The Forest Hills Chamber meets monthly on the last Wednesday of the month and presents interesting speakers, topics and issues concerning the business community. As a member you can network at the monthly meetings and at our networking/business card exchanges.
